Jozankei Onsen is located in Shikotsu-Toya National Park, and its colorful, beautiful scenery that changes throughout the four seasons delights all those who visit.

\u2018Sozoro Jozankei\u2019 is a program in which signs containing QR codes are placed at recommended scenic spots. Detailed information about each of these spots can be accessed by scanning the QR codes with a portable device.

The keeper of the forest,<\/small>
Ichijo Shin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Known affectionately as \u2018the keeper of the forest,\u2019 Ichijo walks through the Jozankei forests almost every day throughout the four seasons, and participates in walking groups as a guide. \u2018#Sozoro Jozankei\u2019 introduces each spot based on Ichijo\u2019s wealth of knowledge. He is also advisor to the Jozankei Nature Club NPO.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Futami Tsuribashi suspension bridge<\/h3>\n

Popular scenic viewpoint From this bright red suspensionbridge, you can see \u201dFutami-iwarocks\u201d that was named after Futamigaura in Ise, Mie Pref. and\u201cKappa buchi\u201d that has a legend of Kappa.<\/p>\n <\/a>\n \n

Jozankei Gensen Park<\/h3>\n

The park was awarded the \u201cMinister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award\u201d at the Green Design Awards in 2005.<\/p>\n <\/a>\n \n

Iwato Kannondo<\/h3>\n

wato Kannondo Hall and Cave were built in 1936. In the cave, about 120 meters long, you can face to 33 different statues of the Kannon, the Goddess of mercy,Believe or not, it is famous as a power spot (place filled with spiritual power) among the people having entrance exam, or seeking chances for love affair. Don\u2019t forget to try fortune paper vender machine, which is very much retro fashioned. Have fun!<\/p>\n <\/a>\n \n

Jozanji Temple Homotsuden (Museum)<\/h3>\n

A treasure hall that houses and exhibits precious objects related to Miizumi Jozan, the founder of Jozankei Onsen, adjacent to Jozanji Temple.<\/p>\n <\/a>\n \n

Jozankei Shrine<\/h3>\n

Built in 1905, this shrine stands quietly amidst the lush green hills overlooking Jozankei Onsen. In spring, Ezoengosaku (Corydalis ambigua) flowers bloom along the approach to the shrine, and in autumn, it becomes a famous fall foliage spot. <\/p>\n <\/a>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n
